“What could be greater than a king?” asks Jason Momoa of Amber Heard in the trailer for Aquaman. “A hero,” she replies. And that’s where you’re at with this film about an aquatic man. Director James Wan is on wan, asking, “What if Lord of the Rings battle, but underwater?” The wettest big boy takes the hero’s journey under da sea and the whole DC universe is saved from drowning. Jason Momoa plays the half-Atlantean hero like a giant, damp Labrador and it’s good as hell.
