Spike Lee’s latest joint, based on a memoir by Ron Stallworth, Colorado Springs’s first African-American officer, follows Ron (John David Washington) and Jewish detective Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver) as they infiltrate their local KKK chapter. Thanks to themes that do more than hint at our current political climate, this is a deadly serious comedic ride through some “fo’ real, fo’ real shit”.
