Think of the twenty-odd movies Marvel made in the last ten years. Crews of thousands, computer effects up the wazoo, Robert Downey Jr squeezing out the last drops of his charisma. Now name twenty great coming-of-age comedies made in the last year. Ya can’t. What we’re seeing here is that sassy teens doing quips and the occasional adorable smooch is harder to pull off than a super people movie. Olivia Wilde did it though, and she did it with her directorial debut Booksmart. Suck eggs, Russo brothers.
