The ‘morning after to-do list’ Michael Moore published on Facebook in the immediate fallout of the 2016 US presidential election remains the template for a lot of Trump resistance (and punditry). This doco is Moore throwing a custard pie at liberal thought-bubbles and trying to work out how the world went orange. He’s obviously angry (you would be too if the president stole your hat and slapped a slogan on it), so the film’s got a bewildered, exasperated tone. But it’s full of Moore’s signature bratty hijinx (he basically pisses on CEO-friendly governor Rick Snyder’s lawn with toxic Flint water), and it takes the time to look inward and remind us to celebrate the renewed energy for political change.
