Ang Lee is a hard director to pin down. There are his early Taiwanese comedies of manners, his martial arts crossover hit Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and films as different as Hulk, Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi. Right now, he’s most interested in pushing the technological limits of cinema itself. Gemini Man pits a younger, faster cloned super-assassin (Will Smith) against an older, wiser super-assassin (also Will Smith). Its incredible sequences were originally filmed at 120 frames per second, with visual effects by Weta Digital that should be used to create a new series of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
