Hustlers is about a group of strippers who fleece Wall Street goblins out of their not-earned money. The premise could have been played leering and cheap but director Lorene Scafaria uses it to look deep at what it takes for women to exist in a man’s world – while still pulling off a wildly entertaining heist movie. We’ll look back at in 20 years and say, “damn, that was the right movie at the right time”. And not just because Jennifer Lopez’s performances is instantly iconic.
