Rita Wilson plays Tom Hanks’s sister in Sleepless in Seattle. Meaning Tom Hanks is married to his on-screen sibling which makes you wonder what kind of nasty stuff those two get up to. The film is a masterpiece of lightness, a callback to fifties romance flicks like An Affair to Remember (which Sleepless in Seattle references). It’s so nice to see an earnest, heartfelt film about love that doesn’t involve anybody’s sassy best friend saying “uh, well THAT happened” at any point. Just Tom and Meg finding being charming and finding each other on top of the Empire State Building.
